Marius, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
I made the decision to emigrate to the Netherlands for several reasons, but one of the biggest factors was the desire for new opportunities. The Netherlands offered a stable environment, excellent work prospects, and a high quality of life. I also wanted to experience a different culture and explore the many opportunities for personal and professional growth that Europe offers.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I really enjoy living in the Netherlands. It’s a beautiful country with a very practical, efficient way of life. The infrastructure here is exceptional, and everything is well organized. One of the biggest differences compared to South Africa is the level of safety and security. The general atmosphere here feels calm, and there’s a strong emphasis on social welfare and equality.

The climate is also a big change—it’s much colder and wetter here than in South Africa, but I’ve adapted. Another noticeable difference is the directness in communication. People here tend to be very straightforward, which I find refreshing.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
I’m currently working as a BI Developer, with a focus on finance and productivity projects. In finance, I’m optimizing data processing and reporting to enable better decision-making, while in productivity, I’m creating solutions to boost efficiency and streamline workflows. Both areas are fast-paced and demand a strong grasp of data analysis and business intelligence tools to deliver impactful insights. I find it rewarding to be involved in projects that directly influence business performance. Additionally, being part of a multicultural team has been an enriching experience, offering fresh perspectives on problem-solving.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
The process of emigration was both challenging and exciting. It took a lot of planning and patience. From paperwork to finding a place to live, the logistics of the move were a bit overwhelming at first. However, summit developers provided a lot of resources to help us, which made the transition easier.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
The support I received from summit sevelopers during the emigration process was invaluable. Whether it was advice about the paperwork or tips about what to expect in terms of culture shock, having a network of people really made a difference. I would highly encourage anyone thinking of emigrating to reach out to summit developers, as they provide both practical help as well as guidance during the immigration process.
