Keanu, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
Well, it was a mix of things, really. My wife and I have always been drawn to Europe, and the Netherlands just seemed like a good fit with its high quality of life, strong work-life balance, and great opportunities. We also loved the idea of experiencing a different culture and getting out of our comfort zone a bit.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I really enjoy it! The people are friendly, and there’s a great sense of community here. One big difference is just how well organized everything is – public transport is so efficient, and everything runs on time. In South Africa, you definitely don’t take that for granted. The pace of life is a bit slower here too, which I’ve really come to appreciate. The weather’s a whole other story though – South Africa’s sunshine is hard to beat!

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
Right now, I’m really focused on a few Data Engineering and Business Intelligence (BI) projects. I’ve been working on building data pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources, and optimization across multiple clients from different industries – From Dairy production to Automotive, Its always changing.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
It was definitely a big decision. The paperwork process in SA took time, but once that was sorted, the actual move was pretty smooth. There were a lot of logistics to handle, but summit developers was really good at helping both me and my wife settle in, which made it a lot easier.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
