Heinrich, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
I emigrated for better career advancement and also overall quality of life and to experience new things.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I’ve really enjoyed the Netherlands since arriving at Schiphol Airport. The Netherlands feels much safer than South Africa, in the sense that I can walk around late at night without worrying about my safety. The integration of technology in both private and government-owned companies in the Netherlands was also quite surprising compared to South Africa, which made it much easier for me to settle in here.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
I am currently working on a web client for a support and telecommunications company, where I need to integrate support email handling between customers and various housing companies.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
The process went very smoothly. It took some time to get used to things and to settle in but overall I am thankful I made the decision to emigrate. It is just a different world outside of South Africa.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?

They are always just a phone call or text away for any questions throughout the entire emigration process, and they are always willing to assist whenever possible.
