Divan, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
To experience Europe! From day to day life to travel to work and everything in between. My wife and I also wanted a safer environment to raise our kids in.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I like that the Netherlands attempts to solve problems, especially with technology. There’s a tech solution to just about any and every problem out there. It’s very convenient. The biggest differences between SA and NL must be the average household income and the level of education. Society is a lot more equal here in the Netherlands. (We don’t have to mention the weather, do we?)

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
I’m currently working on a project for BIYU which is a rental company. They want to evolve their current offering to become a business-to-business SaaS solution and fully automating rental asset management.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
Really well! Everything went so smoothly, it was great! This was in no small part thanks to summit developers. But also, we made use of a service that handled getting our SA documentation in order, which I would recommend to everyone immigrating. Once all of our SA documentation was in order, summit developers handled the rest. The first few days after arrival was a bit of a scramble to get our house kitted out with furniture and lights, but since then we’ve been having a good time exploring, and enjoying day to day life.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
One word: Excellent! We were guided through each step of the process. Any time we had a question or concern we could just send summit developers an email or a whatsapp message and they would happily answer/help. We feel like summit developers really cares about us and wants the best for us.
