Ashton Angel

Ashton Angel arrived in the Netherlands at the beginning of July 2024. His wife Tamaryn and son Logan will follow later. Read more about the experiences of Ashton.

Ashton, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
The most important reason for me, is to give my son the opportunity to be educated in a high quality, consistent and relatively affordable education system. The Netherlands also has a larger job market with more even renumeration across sectors.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I love all the greenery and the countryside is beautiful. The small towns are beautiful like something you would only read about in a book.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
Still quite new but I’ve started working on AWS lambda functions that integrate with an insurance policy rule engine. The working environment is quite similar to my previous jobs in South Africa so adjusting is not too difficult.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly? And can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
summit developers has been fantastic in helping me through the process from the start with interviews to organizing the visa and making sure all the dates line up nicely. They made finding somewhere to live a breeze, and if you know anything about the housing market that is no small task.
