Trishan Vassan

It was April 2022 when Trishan Vassan came to the Netherlands, ready for new adventures.

Trishan, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
It was always a goal of mine to move to another country within Europe and after visiting the Netherlands a few years ago my mind was set on emigrating here. The way everything in the country works so well, the increased quality of life, the close proximity of the other European countries and the safety of the country all added to me wanting to emigrate to the Netherlands. Therefore when the opportunity to move did present itself I did not give it a second thought and immediately took it.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
I am absolutely loving it in the Netherlands, everything works so well and people are so friendly and welcoming. Some of the biggest differences I have experienced include the fact that one can travel almost everywhere in the country using just public transport and walking and without having to worry about being unsafe when walking outside or using the trains and buses. Another big difference is that there is no load shedding, no water cuts, and no internet connection interruptions. When there is an issue it will get resolved extremely fast.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
I’m currently working as a Test Automation Engineer on a project for a large material handling and logistics automation company, and my role consists of assisting my team with all activities related to quality assurance.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
The process of emigration with summit developers went extremely smoothly, they had helped arrange everything I needed from my current job to my apartment and picking me up from the airport when I landed. All I needed to do on my end was get all the required documents (which can take some time due to Home Affairs in South Africa) but once that one obtained summit developers handled everything else before, during and after the emigration process

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
My experience with summit developers has been absolutely amazing, they handle everything for you, they are extremely helpful with answering any questions I had before, during and after the move. Paulien, Matthijs and Ton are an extremely awesome team that will go the extra mile to help you out wherever they can, they have great experience and knowledge of all the emigration processes that need to happen. I would give summit developers a 10 out of 10 and would recommend anyone considering emigrating to the Netherlands to go with summit developers, they will make the biggest change of your life feel like one of the easiest.
