Johnnie van Eeden

Johnnie van Eeden arrived in the Netherlands in February 2021. He came together with his wife Karien and their sons Juan en Dian. Johnnie wrote something about his experiences.

Johnnie, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
The opportunity came my way to work and live in Europe via summit developers. It was a good time to move to a new country with my family as my kids are still young. As a family we wanted to explore new opportunities.

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
We enjoy being in the Netherlands despite the challenges which corona brings. There are lots to explore and see in the outdoors. We are looking forward to when we can travel to neighboring countries. We enjoy the safe environment in which my wife and kids can go to the parks and cycle around town.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
My current project is an AWS serverless implementation for Post.NL and their retail customers. It is using C# lambdas, DynamoDB, etc.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
Our process went well. We had some difficulties/delays with governmental departments being closed/providing limited services due to corona. Despite those challenges, we managed to get everything done within the set timeframe, which was actually very short.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
The support my family and I received from summit developers was fantastic. I don’t think we would have gone through with the process if it was not for their help. We received support on multiple levels which resulted in a VERY soft landing for us in the Netherlands. We could ask any questions we might have had, without any hesitation. summit developers is always willing to answer and help, no matter how simple or complex the question/problem.
