Jaco, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
I’ve always wanted to explore Europe and thought an opportunity to work in the Netherlands makes the most sense. I honestly feel NL will be a good culture fit for my expectations. Thus, when summit developers approached me regarding a working opportunity, it was a no brainer!

Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
The Netherlands thus far has been an eye opener. We’ve been exploring the main attractions in the time being here and it’s been amazing! The public transport makes it very easy and affordable to explore Netherlands holistically. I do feel people are more conservative here in NL compared to SA. People also tend to stay indoors more often and of course Braai isn’t a thing here 🙂 In a nutshell, everything this just flows flawlessly.

Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
The projects has been very interesting. I’ve been involved in a team creating biometric & identity, verification and self monitoring solutions. Our clients are mainly government and health care based which use these solutions to improve their internal processes. I’m proud to develop and improve these solutions which impacts different industries.

Did the process of emigration go smoothly?
The emigration process went very smoothly. I honestly thought it would be much more difficult and challenging than it turned out to be. summit developers played a big role in the seamless emigration process.

Can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
Honestly, it is a very big decision and the nerves are high emigrating to a new country. Therefore it’s fundamentally important to have all the support you can get. summit developers has been a gem in this aspect. The’ve helped us tremendously. Not only with the obvious things, but things I would never have thought of myself. Rest assured, you know they’ve got your back and only want what’s best for you. Thank you!
