Charlotte, why did you emigrate to the Netherlands?
We chose to emigrate to the Netherlands primarily to secure a more stable and prosperous future for our children. The country offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth, which was a significant draw for us. Additionally, the emphasis on safety and the allure of easier European travel aligned well with our love for adventure and exploring new places.
Can you tell us something how you do like the Netherlands?
Our time in the Netherlands has been delightful, especially given our arrival during the summer months. The pleasant weather was a welcome surprise. Embracing the newfound sense of safety has been liberating, both for my family and myself. The environment has fostered increased independence in our children, and they are relishing the freedom they now have. The abundance of activities and destinations to explore every weekend has been a joy, offering ample options for families and children. One of the most apparent distinctions is the overall relaxed demeanor of the people here. There’s a clear focus on family life and quality time spent together. Our daily routines, like commuting to school and shopping, have been transformed through the use of bicycles, strengthening our family bonds. Despite linguistic similarities, adapting to the differences in grammar and communication style of the Dutch language has been a gradual process.
Please tell us something about the projects you are currently working on.
I am gearing up to embark on an upcoming project with my client. Collaborating within a team, our main objective is to ensure the successful launch of a new online sales process tailored for European clients. My role entails upholding high-quality standards and ensuring the functionality aligns with expectations. I’m enthusiastic about the potential impact I can make in this endeavor.
Did the process of emigration go smoothly? And can you explain to the South Africans who are considering to go overseas how you did experience the support from us?
The process of emigration can be a daunting one, laden with uncertainties and an extensive to-do list. However, in our case, the pieces of the puzzle fell into place methodically. From the initial interview set up by summit developers, it took just a little over 5 months for us to transition and settle into our new life here. summit developers played a pivotal role throughout this journey. They facilitated various aspects, including visa arrangements, contract negotiations, housing selection, transportation setup, school introductions, utility arrangements, and even extending a warm welcome at the airport. Knowing these things were in place held significant value during our initial, uncertain days in a new country. Since our arrival, Summit has continued to offer their support. Their unwavering dedication provides a strong sense of security, knowing that any concerns or questions can be directed to them. Their genuine care for us and our family truly makes a difference and fosters a sense of belonging in our new home.
